Portraits from Austin, TX

April 26, 2015 Modern Bay Studios

We spent over two weeks in Austin, Texas, crisscrossing the city repeatedly to stay with our various hosts and visit friends both old and new. It was the first city we stayed in where we really felt comfortable and established social connections beyond our previous network. We fell into a nice rhythm in this town and it was hard to leave, as it felt like we really lived here.

These are a selection of portraits I took during our adventures, from the heart of downtown Austin to the rural outskirts. The weather was beautiful, even the occasional thunderstorm, and the activities were endless. We went to barbeques and crawfish boils, rode horses and swam in swimming holes. Austin's laid back ease penetrated every facet of our experience, and the people we met were embodiments of it's balance of sophistication and Texan charm.
